Stop trusting every platform's own revenue number.
Google Marketing Platform is the enterprise stack for managing search, ad serving, programmatic, tagging and analytics in one measurement system. We set it up and run it for B2B SaaS teams that are done guessing which channel creates pipeline.
What Google Marketing Platform actually is
One stack, five tools
Planning, buying, serving, tagging and measuring from a shared set of data.
GMP bundles Search Ads 360, Campaign Manager 360, Display & Video 360, Tag Manager and Analytics 360. They are built to share conversion data, audiences and tags, which is the whole point.
Not the same as Google Ads
Google Ads buys Google inventory. GMP sits above it.
Google Ads is a platform you buy media in. GMP is the layer above: cross-engine bidding, deduplicated conversions, independent ad serving and unified reporting.
Built for long sales cycles
Floodlight and offline conversion imports fit B2B pipeline.
Long cycles, multiple stakeholders and CRM-stage outcomes are where platform-reported numbers fall apart. GMP lets you optimise to pipeline, not form fills.
Why B2B SaaS marketing data lies to you
Every ad platform grades its own homework. Add a 60 to 180 day sales cycle and a CRM that lives somewhere else, and nobody can say what paid actually produces.
Each platform claims the same conversion
Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Bing all take credit for the demo that came from a mix of them. Add the platforms up and you have more pipeline than you have deals.
Form fills are not pipeline
Bidding on lead volume rewards cheap, unqualified signups. The signal that matters (SQL, opportunity, closed-won) happens weeks later in the CRM.
Paid social is the black box
Click-throughs lose context across redirects and browsers, and view-through claims are impossible to verify without an independent ad server.
Tags break quietly
A form redesign or consent banner change can halve your conversion tracking and nobody notices until the quarterly review.
How far apart are your platform numbers and your CRM?
Each ad platform claims the same conversion. Compare what they report with what your CRM actually sourced.
Illustrative model on your own inputs. Defaults are placeholders, and anything marked assumption is yours to set. It is not a result we promise.
The GMP stack, and where each tool earns its place
Each product has its own page. Here is the one-line version of what we use each for.
Search Ads 360
Cross-engine search management with portfolio bidding.
Manage Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising in one place, with bid strategies that optimise to Floodlight conversions instead of platform-only data. Read more
Campaign Manager 360
Independent ad serving and Floodlight tracking.
The neutral referee: it deduplicates conversions across channels so Meta, YouTube and search stop double-counting. Read more
Display & Video 360
Programmatic, YouTube and connected TV from one buying platform.
Audience-led programmatic with frequency control across channels and custom bidding. Useful once search is saturated. Read more
Google Tag Manager
The tracking layer everything else depends on.
A governed data layer, server-side tagging, consent handling and CRM-stage events. If this is wrong, every report is wrong. Read more
GA4
Event analytics, audiences and BigQuery export.
The reporting spine: events, key events, revenue values, audiences that sync to ad platforms. Read more
The integrations
The tools talk to each other. That is the value.
Audiences from GA4 into SA360 and DV360, Floodlight data into bidding, tags feeding all of it. The integration is the product, not any single tool.
How we take on a GMP engagement
Audit the tracking
We map what fires today, what is double-counted and which CRM stages never reach the ad platforms.
Define the pipeline signal
Agree what counts: SQL, opportunity, closed-won. Then wire those back as optimisation events.
Build and migrate
Tags, Floodlight activities, GA4 events and bid strategies, rolled out in a staged way so reporting does not go dark.
Run, test and report
Weekly optimisation, monthly pipeline reporting and honest read-outs when a channel is not working.
One measurement stack, not five disconnected tools
Pick the tool that matches your biggest bottleneck, or start with the overview.
Proof: Couples Resort, cross-channel measurement that held up
Couples Resort is a luxury all-inclusive resort group we have run paid media for since 2023. Their buying journey is long, high-consideration and expensive to get wrong, which is the same shape as a B2B SaaS pipeline. The measurement stack behind it is the part that transfers.
Negative keywords, in tiers
Search waste was a structure problem, not a bidding problem.
We built a tiered negative keyword architecture (roughly 540 terms) and kept it alive with n-gram analysis of search terms, so budget stopped leaking into irrelevant intent.
Meta reported vs reality
Meta said roughly 50X. The cross-channel view said far less (5 to 7X is an estimate).
Meta self-reported about 50X. Deduplicated in Floodlight through Campaign Manager 360, the real contribution was nearer 5 to 7X (estimate). Still strong, but a very different budget decision.
Year-one ROAS
Blended return in the first year, measured against revenue.
About 30X blended ROAS in year one, then incremental growth every year since. The channel mix: Search Ads 360, Meta via Campaign Manager 360, YouTube and Bing.
- Search Ads 360 for search management and bidding across Google and Bing
- Meta traffic measured through Campaign Manager 360 and Floodlight, so claims could be checked
- YouTube run alongside search and measured in the same system
- GA4 revenue tracking to tie spend to actual revenue, not clicks
Results are from our work with a single client and are directional, not a promise. The 5 to 7X figure is an estimate. Client approval for naming, imagery and quotes is handled separately.
Questions B2B SaaS teams ask us
What is Google Marketing Platform?
Google Marketing Platform (GMP) is Google's enterprise advertising and analytics suite: Search Ads 360, Campaign Manager 360, Display & Video 360, Tag Manager 360 and Analytics 360. Several of these have free or standard tiers, such as GA4 and Tag Manager.
Is Google Marketing Platform the same as Google Ads?
No. Google Ads is where you buy media on Google properties. GMP adds cross-engine management, independent ad serving, programmatic buying and unified measurement on top.
Do small B2B SaaS companies need GMP?
Not all of it. Most benefit from clean GTM and GA4 first. Search Ads 360, Campaign Manager 360 and Display & Video 360 pay off when you run several channels and need a neutral view of what drives pipeline.
Do you resell GMP licences?
We manage and implement the platforms. Licensing for the paid products is normally handled through Google or an authorised reseller, and we help you work out what you actually need before you sign anything.
