LEADS DROPPINGCONVERSIONS CLIMBING
01 · The starting point

Falling leads, hidden keyword gems

DigitalBrain's inbound leads from paid and organic search had dropped significantly. The team wanted better SEM performance and new ways to win leads organically. The goal: find the hidden keyword gems buried in their search data.

The challenge was clear: find them, convert them, and make paid and organic search work together instead of against each other.

Part three
Build on what converts
02 · What we did

Three moves behind the results

Each move fed the next: an audit that exposed the gaps, keyword research that found the winners, and content and landing pages built around what converted.

01

A 20-point audit

We audited the Google Ads and Bing accounts against 20 areas, from account structure and match types to quality score, bid strategy and conversion tracking.

  • Structure, match types and negatives
  • Quality score and bid strategy
  • Conversion tracking and competitor gaps
20
areas audited across both accounts
02

High-intent keywords, mined

We mined search terms reports and third-party spy tools for high-intent long-tail keywords, and checked whether paid and organic were cannibalizing each other.

  • Missed long-tail keywords found
  • Paid and organic overlap checked
  • Low-quality-score keywords flagged
  • Costly keywords already ranking organically

03

Content on what converts

We built shareable content on the winning keywords and rebuilt landing pages around search intent.

  • Guides, research posts and checklists
  • Demo CTAs placed throughout posts
  • Distractions removed, pages matched to intent
  • Social sharing on every post

03 · How it worked

Audit first, then rank, then convert

SEM CONVERSIONS
SAME BUDGET3XSTART6 MONTHS
25 KEYWORDSTOP 3 ON GOOGLE

We started with six questions: which long-tail keywords were missing, whether paid and organic were cannibalizing each other, whether costly keywords already ranked, how SEM winners could inform SEO, which low-quality-score keywords dragged the account down, and how aggressive competitors were. The answers let us cut waste and grow conversions while keeping the budget flat.

The content followed the same logic. Keywords that already converted in paid search shaped what we wrote, so inbound targeted the same buyer intent that was already paying off.

05 · Takeaways

What you can steal

01

Audit before you spend more

Twenty checks across structure, intent, tracking and quality score find waste before more budget does.

02

Let paid search feed SEO

Converting keywords in paid search show which topics to rank for organically.

03

Match the page to the intent

Removing distractions and matching pages to what people searched doubled conversions.

04

Check paid and organic overlap

Know where paid and organic cannibalize each other before deciding where budget goes.

06 · Since 2020

How we’d run it today

The results above came from the 2020 playbook. Search has changed since, so here is what we would do differently on the same engagement now.

I’m Sergiy, founder of Algocentric Digital and a T2D3-certified fractional CMO. I’ve spent 12 years inside B2B SaaS marketing, from demand gen and paid media to full GTM strategy, working with companies at every stage from MVP to Series B.

What I’ve seen over and over: B2B SaaS founders at $2M–$10M ARR don’t need more marketing activity. They need someone to identify which 20% of effort drives 80% of their pipeline, and build a system that compounds from there.

That’s exactly what the Algocentric GTM Growth Audit and fractional CMO engagement is built to deliver.
